Jerry Allen Headshot

Jerry Allen has been an owner, exhibitor, show manager, leader, and volunteer for decades. He has spent his lifetime committed to his love for horses and helping others.

It all started with the family pony, Snow Fire, who inspired Jerry and his brothers with the love for showing. The Putnam County Fair was their annual show target, with ribbons and prize money as the goal.

As Jerry matured, his love for horses intensified. The family once again entered the show ring, this time with American Quarter Horses. One of the favorites was Bold Starlet, who earned Superior titles in Amateur and Open Western Pleasure. Together, they made trips to the Congress and the World Show, with several top tens won. Jerry’s favorite horse would be Addeetailedinviation ("Addee"), that he bred, raised, and showed many years, gaining many points in showmanship.

Jerry and twin Jimmy managed TQHA shows in the seventies and eighties, in addition to a Novice Show more recently. Jerry always wanted the opportunity for everyone to exercise their love for showing.

Jerry joined the TQHA Board of Directors in 2012 and has served on the Executive Committee for thirteen years, including three years as President. For his love of the American Quarter Horse and his devotion to TQHA, we honor Jerry Allen as the 16th inductee into the Tennessee Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame.
