George Price Headshot

George Price owned Pear Tree Quarter Horse Farm in Fairview, Tennessee. He was an avid breeder and owner of some of the nation’s best horses of his era. George raised an AQHA Champion mare, Heidi Price, that was one of his favorites. He stood Snip’s King, a Raffles grandson that he bred and showed for many years. His favorite event was cutting, and in addition to Heidi Price, he owned Wakapala Beach, a grey mare that was a World Reserve Champion cutter.

Perhaps his most famous horse was the great Paint mare “Delta,” a World Champion cutter. Goodbye Sam, ridden and shown by Pat Patterson, gave Tennessee the state’s first AQHA Supreme Champion. George was a great supporter of TQHA and served as its president in 1971.
