TQHA President 1989 & 1990 - AQHA Membership Committee Chairman, Leader, Owner

Larry McDonald is one of two Tennessee Quarter Horse Association lifetime members inducted into the TQHA Hall of Fame in 2017. His contributions in the eighties and nineties helped shape much of what we see today in TQHA management.

Larry served as president of TQHA in 1989 and 1990. His business expertise with his company “Lucky B” gave Larry a management skill he applied to TQHA. His leadership in management and fundraising allowed the association to not only survive but return to being financially sound as well.

Larry’s TQHA involvement led to his AQHA involvement. He served nine years on the Membership Committee and was its chairman for three of those years. He was also a member of the AQHA Marketing Committee for three years. His primary goal on these two committees was to bring AQHA affiliates into a more prominent role, working closely with AQHA to give them a greater voice in Amarillo.

TQHA is proud to induct Larry McDonald into the Hall of Fame.
