Pat Kress | Knoxville, Tennessee

TQHA Past President, Board of Directors, and AQHA Show Secretary

Pat Kress Headshot

Pat Kress began her lifetime journey in the American Quarter Horse industry in 1963 when she picked up and thoroughly digested her first Western Horseman magazine. Soon after, she attended her first TQHA show next to the Knoxville Zoo and was encouraged by then-TQHA President Sam Barrett to get involved. She followed his good advice and since that first show has diligently and faithfully served TQHA and AQHA.

Pat first got involved in the show ring, showing several horses before she started volunteering in the office, helping and learning show management from Barbara Fisher. She was soon elected to the TQHA Board of Directors and served as second vice president, first vice president, and was elevated to president in 1990 and 1991. She has served on most of the TQHA committees and most recently served on the Hall of Fame Committee.

Being an AQHA show secretary has been Pat’s first love attachment to the horse industry for over 25 years. She has been the secretary for countless AQHA shows in 12 states and Canada.

For her many years of service and dedication to TQHA and AQHA, we honor her as the 13th inductee into the Tennessee Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame.
